MESSAGE FROM SECRETARY

Vikas Arya, C.A., MBA
Secretary, D.A.V. Group, Chennai

At DAV Chennai, we aim to provide our children holistic education, focusing on the four Cs – Communication, Collaboration, Creativity and Critical thinking.

Known for our academic rigor, we are deeply conscious about ensuring that our children grow up as ardent patriots, develop a strong spiritual framework, are service-oriented thus developing a sense of compassion and learn to enjoy sports though all of them need not become great players.

We envision our children evolve into empowered individuals who can contribute to the world as leaders, overcome the challenges of life through spiritual strength and guide themselves, their families and societies to peace and happiness.

MESSAGE FROM ACADEMIC DIRECTOR

Shanthy Asokan, M.Sc, B.Ed
Director - Education & Innovation
D.A.V. Group of Schools, Chennai

Education is a mission to reset the standard of the society and at DAV we consider ourselves to be blessed as we deem it a chance to greatly impact a large number of young minds in the right direction.

We take pride in the ancient gurukul system आचार्य  देवो  भवः| and we are proud to have the best of teachers.

Students are taught that ‘Gyan Pravaha’ which means ‘sharing of knowledge’ is the key component to success as they learn best when they teach, and so commit socially to live what they teach.

My message to the student community is to dream big, bring your vision to fruition by executing it with passion, hard work and discipline so that you remain happy and contented forever.

Secretary’s Message

Shri Vikas Arya C.A., MBA Secretary

We take pride in the ancient gurukul system and believe that teachers are truly special – आचार्यदेवोभवः| We may not have the best of modern infrastructure (some aspects by conscious choice and some due to genuine constraints), but we are proud to have the best of teachers.

We envision our children evolve into empowered individuals who can contribute to the world as leaders, overcome the challenges of life through spiritual strength and guide themselves, their families and societies to peace and happiness.

Principal’s Message

Dear Members of The DAV school family, Well Wishers and Visitors . Namaste

विद्या ददावि विनयं विनयाद्यावि पात्रिाम्।

पात्रत्वाद्धनमाप्नोवि धनाद्धमंििः सुखम्॥ ५ ॥

The fundamental purpose of our education should be to help us evolve and transform into worthy citizens. When achieved with humility and right conduct, it also leads ultimately to our enrichment and brings contentment. This is the foundational philosophy on which is built the DAV group of schools, managed by the Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Society, a limb of Arya Samaj (Central), Chennai.

Set on a sprawling campus in the heart of Mogappair, Anna Nagar, Chennai, the DAV SR Secondary School, affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi, was established in 1994. The school campus has been thoughtfully designed, with well-ventilated rooms, state of the art infrastructure, a grand auditorium and an enviable open ground with vibrant paintings all around.

Since its humble inception, it has gone from strength to strength and today provides quality education to around 2,000 girls every year. This school provides the right atmosphere and guidance to promote multifaceted development to our students, showcased by their sustained high degree of academic excellence. This has been made possible by a constantly evolving and highly efficient group of teachers – almost a hundred of them – striving passionately to offer high -VALUE ADDED VIDYA.

Mrs. Uma Parvathy M.Sc.,B.Ed.
Principal, D.A.V. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Mogappair

It is the constant endeavour of the school to provide quality education effectively and efficiently in a conducive and stimulating environment. So, the emphasis is on character formation, personality development, academic excellence, both physical and mental growth – in short, a holistic development of the future citizens of this country. I consider it my distinct honour to head this inspired group.

Our signature features, such as the daily havan and training in yoga, serve us well in fostering mental and physical wellness. In addition, Vedic Sanskriti School, Krida Kendra, Prashasthi and Gurusikshanam, are some of the programs, instituted by our Secretary, to help us advance towards his vision of DAV being a temple of learning.

Active co-operation of the parent community, our strongest pillar of support, invaluable guidance of our management, the work of our dedicated teaching and support staff, and the unbounded enthusiasm of our students help to resonate with me the call, “Lift yourself to be yourself,” and inspire me to continue seeking ways to make a difference.
